There are potentially hundreds of dive sites, offering incredible
topographic and marine life diversity. From the spectacular house reef
to breathtaking drop-offs and slopes, coral gardens and lagoonal
coral bommies, all at your doorstep.
Charapoana Drift is a dive not to be missed. The currents move gently and
you can stop without too much difficulty to take pictures or make a closer
inspection of large gorgonians, huge amphora baskets, soft coral trees and
hard corals.
School of trevally, rainbow runners, barracuda, mackerel, tuna, sharks and an
abundance of reef fish including basslets, surgeons, butterfly cods and
angelfish.
For the hard corals, Landoro Gardens must have one of the largest
selections. Landoro Gardens contrasts with the steep dropoffs of other
sites, as the terrain changes to rolling hills of hard and soft corals.
Nearby Elbow Caves have a series of intriguing crevices, ledges and caverns
cutting deeply into the sheer wall, providing homes for a wide variety of
reef creatures.

| Charapoana passage |
One of the best dives is Charapoana Point. The slope is covered in
gorgonians, sea whips, soft coral and sponges and providing a stage for a
procession of pelagics, including sharks, trevally, jacks and schooling
barracuda.
Charapoana-Ngoete dive is another perfect and easy shore dive. Just wade in
and drift on an oncoming tide.
Among the most favourite dives is Mongo Passage, where vigorous currents
propel huge volumes of water through a narrow gap in the outer barrier
reef.
Beyond Charapoana are many other excellent sites. One of the most
interesting of these is a WW II plane wreck, a P-38 Lightning.
In only 25 feet, the twin-engine fighter is just of Seghe airport.
